The purposes of a meeting are multiple.
In general, its purpose is to organize teamwork🤝.
On the other hand, the meeting is also a powerful tool that allows the organizer to assert his power. Managing and organizing a meeting is, therefore, a management and leadership issue that should not be neglected.
➡️ A meeting can be a benefit for the organization as it can bring back issues to it.
✔️ It constitutes a strong instrument of management when it is a well-organized meeting, allowing to gather all the persons in charge of a project or a file; in order to organize a structured exchange around the subject.
❌ However, a meeting can also be one of the worst enemies of the company because it almost never goes as planned: the meeting starts late, the participants arrive one after the other cutting off the speaker to apologize for their delay…
📑 The agenda is almost never followed, and the gathering ends with no relevant information and no one really knowing what to do.
⚠️ Don’t overlook the importance of organizing and steering your meetings. With a good agenda and better management, as a leader, you have an advantage.
